Biography
Where's home?: Heidelberg, Mississippi.
What is/are your concentration(s)?: Health Economics & Policy Analysis (Master of Public Health)
I chose my concentration(s) because: I am interested in understanding how policy, financing, and resource allocation shape access to healthcare and health outcomes. My experience in public health research, food access initiatives, and policy work have shown me that improving health requires more than identifying disparities. My concentration allows me to combine my interests in public health, policy, and law while preparing to develop solutions that make healthcare systems more equitable and effective.
My favorite place to study is School of Public Health Quiet Lodge; and my favorite place to relax is Xaco Tacos with my fraternity brothers.
One of my favorite classes was: Ethics, Medicine, and Technology.
I like to advise about: Academic planning, study strategies, campus involvement, leadership development graduate and professional school preparation, and finding opportunities that align with their long-term goals.
A formative college experience for me is/was: Leading Farm2Wellness, a Food is Medicine initiative that connected students and community members with fresh, healthy food and nutrition resources. The experience showed me that improving health requires more than clinical care; it also requires addressing barriers such as food access, affordability, and community trust.
My advice for first-year students and and sophomores is: Trust the process and remember that it all works out in the end. Give yourself room to grow, make mistakes, change direction, and learn along the way. You do not have to have everything figured out right now.
My healthy strateg/(ies) for for destressing is/are: Listening to music, taking walks, cooking, spending time with people I care about, and giving myself intentional breaks from schoolwork.
Something most people don't know about me: I’m actually pretty reserved until I get comfortable around people.
Something I love about the CRC is: how welcoming and supportive the environment feels. It creates a space where students can ask for help, build confidence, and feel like they truly belong.
